This week in perspective
While Mel Gibson was caught for drunk driving, then calling the female officer “sugar tits”, before embarking on a furious anti-Jewish rant which has since provoked the ire of Hollywood,
Fidel Castro, the long-standing Cuban leader has temporarily ceded power to his brother because of very poor health though im sure he will take this in his stride. ( During leadership of Cuba, there has been a total of 638 failed attempts on Castro’s life, ranging from exploding cigars and molluscs to poisoned handkerchiefs.)
Meanwhile, our favourite PM Tony Blair came in for torrential criticism from the media for spending the weekend in Cali and hooking up with Snoop Doggy Dogg, and the results of his foreign policy quite literally exploded. To top off a withering week, Paris Hilton still doesn’t know who he is. Très bien!
Last but definitely not least, I had a very interesting week as an attachee at A&G- meetings with my mentor, drafted advice, did tons of research which was not neccessarily always fruitful, had posh lunches which were billed to the company, and tried my very best not to be an utter failure in the office. Hmm, its probably way too early for me to judge whether I'm suited for the practice of a large international law firm but i am very sure i'd get so sick of the power suits. The amusement wears out quick no matter how many different shirts, skirts and trousers you rotate with all sort of colour combinations.
Mai Ouis. Box shaped watermelons have made their way to the UK I hear.
Au revoir, tout le monde! À bientôt!
(Apologies for using french at very random bits, I'm still slightly enthusiastic about the language)
